England World Cup 2026 Fixtures, Kick Off Times and How to Watch

England face Croatia, Ghana and Panama in Group L this summer. Here are all the confirmed kick off times, venues and the best way to watch every Three Lions match from the UK.

England World Cup 2026 Fixtures, Kick Off Times and How to Watch

It's finally here. After months of anticipation, England's full World Cup 2026 schedule is confirmed and if you're already planning your viewing nights around it, you're in the right place. This guide covers every fixture, every kick off time in UK time, where each match is being shown and exactly how to make sure you don't miss a single second of it.

The 2026 World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July, hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. It's the biggest tournament in football history, with 48 teams and 104 matches packed into just under six weeks. For fans watching from the UK, the North American time zones mean a very different viewing experience compared to Qatar 2022. Some games are perfectly timed. Others will have you up past midnight with a brew in hand wondering why you set an alarm for work.

England's Group L Fixtures and UK Kick Off Times

England have been drawn into Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama. It's a group they should be expected to get through, but there are no easy games at a World Cup and Thomas Tuchel will know that better than anyone.

Here's every confirmed England group stage fixture with UK kick off times:

England vs Croatia
Wednesday 17 June, 9pm BST
AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
Broadcast: ITV1

England vs Ghana
Tuesday 23 June, 9pm BST
Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Boston
Broadcast: BBC One

Panama vs England
Saturday 27 June, 10pm BST
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Broadcast: ITV1

The good news is all three group games fall in the evening for UK viewers. That's as good as it gets when a tournament is being played across the Atlantic. The 9pm and 10pm kick offs are genuinely watchable without any sleep deprivation, which is something you can't say for all 104 matches on the schedule.

Croatia will be the toughest test in the group. They knocked England out at the semi final stage back in 2018 and this opening fixture is likely to set the tone for the whole campaign. Ghana are ranked considerably lower but have dangerous individual players who can cause problems on their day. Panama are the weakest side on paper and England will be expected to finish that group stage off with a win.

What Happens If England Get Through the Group Stage

This is where things get more complicated, both in terms of opponents and kick off times. The knockout stage format has changed for 2026 with a new Round of 32 added before the traditional last 16. That means England could potentially play seven matches to lift the trophy, not six as in previous tournaments.

If England top Group L, their Round of 32 match is scheduled for Wednesday 1 July at 5pm BST at Atlanta Stadium. That's actually one of the more UK friendly slots in the whole knockout draw.

If England finish as runners up in the group, the Round of 32 game falls on Thursday 2 July at midnight BST in Toronto. That's a much tougher watch and the kind of kick off time that separates the truly dedicated from the casual supporters.

From the Round of 16 onwards, kick off times will be confirmed closer to the date depending on results. But based on the bracket, England's potential route to the final on 19 July at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey could involve games anywhere between early evening and the early hours of the morning UK time. Planning ahead really does pay off here.

Where to Watch England's World Cup Matches on UK TV

The best news for UK viewers is that every single match at the 2026 World Cup is free to watch. All 104 games are split between BBC and ITV, both of which are showing the tournament across their main channels and streaming platforms. You don't need a Sky subscription, a TNT Sports pass or anything else. It's all free.

For England's group stage, ITV1 have the Croatia and Panama matches while BBC One takes the Ghana fixture. If England make it through, the BBC are lined up to broadcast the Round of 32, Round of 16 and semi final matches, with ITV taking the quarter final. The final on 19 July will be shown on both channels simultaneously, as has become tradition.

If you want to stream rather than watch on a TV set, BBC iPlayer and ITVX both carry every match live. You'll need a UK TV licence to access iPlayer, and a free ITVX account for ITV's coverage. Both platforms are available on smart TVs, phones, tablets and streaming devices.

The Problem With North American Kick Off Times

Let's be straight about this. The time zone situation is going to be a headache for a lot of the tournament, especially in the knockout rounds. England's group stage games are genuinely manageable at 9pm and 10pm BST. But once you move into the knockout stages and games are being played on the West Coast of the United States or over in Canada, you're looking at kick offs anywhere between midnight and the early hours of the morning.

West Coast games are eight hours behind UK time. East Coast games are five hours behind. That means a 9pm kickoff in Los Angeles translates to 2am in the UK. A noon kickoff in Vancouver lands at 8pm BST, which is actually ideal. The trick is knowing which city each match is being played in before you set your alarm or plan your evening.

For the group stage, England's matches are all on the East Coast, which is why the kick off times are so reasonable. Further into the tournament, that might change depending on which venues FIFA assign to each round.

How to Watch England Without Paying for Sky or Cable

This is the question a lot of people are genuinely asking right now. Paying for a full Sky package just to watch a couple of months of football doesn't make sense, especially when the World Cup itself is free on BBC and ITV. But if you want access to more than just the England games and free to air coverage, and you want the full 104 match experience without relying on a pub schedule, there's a smarter way to do it.

A good IPTV subscription gives you access to every channel covering the tournament, live, in high definition, on whatever device you prefer. That includes BBC One, ITV1, ITV4, BBC iPlayer quality streams and plenty more alongside them. No contract, no hardware installation, no waiting for an engineer. You just set it up, pick your device and you're watching.

The difference between a standard free to air setup and a proper IPTV service becomes obvious the moment the knockout rounds start and you want to flip between channels, catch pre match coverage, or watch a different game running at the same time. With something like LuxStreams, you get all of that in one place without the fuss of managing multiple apps and logins.

England's Opponents: What to Expect

Croatia have been a persistent thorn in England's side for the better part of a decade. They're not the same side that reached the 2018 final and their squad is in a period of transition, but they're still organised, hard to break down and carry genuine quality in the middle of the pitch. This will be England's first real test of the tournament and a win here would settle nerves massively.

Ghana are ranked 74th in the world but that number doesn't fully reflect how dangerous they can be in individual moments. Antoine Semenyo of Manchester City is their standout player and he'll fancy his chances against any defence. England should have too much quality over 90 minutes but it won't be a walkover.

Panama are the side England will be expected to beat comfortably. They're in the tournament for the experience and the exposure more than anything else, and this should be the match where England put the group to bed and head into the knockout rounds with momentum.

Getting Ready for the Summer

With England's group games all landing in the 9pm to 10pm window, you've got no excuses for missing them. The first one against Croatia on 17 June is the one that matters most for setting the tone. Win that and the whole campaign feels completely different going into the Ghana and Panama games.

Get your viewing sorted now rather than scrambling on the night. Know which channel each match is on, have your streaming setup ready whether that's iPlayer, ITVX or a full IPTV service, and if you're the type who likes to watch every match rather than just the England games, make sure you've got access to everything you need before the tournament kicks off on 11 June.

It's going to be a long, brilliant, occasionally sleep depriving summer. England haven't won a World Cup since 1966 and this squad has the quality to go deep. The fixtures are kind in the group stage. What happens after that is anyone's guess, but that's exactly what makes it worth watching every single match.
